TriFlat™, the improved 3RL by Grip Needles, comes in three needle groupings. Grouping refers to the number of needles in a cartridge. The higher the grouping, the greater the size of the 3RL needle cartridge and the bigger the space it can cover in a single pass. Here are the groupings currently available for TriFlat™ needles:

• 3RL/2: This grouping means there are two 3RL needles in the cartridge. Its small size makes it one of the best tattoo needles for lining small patterns. You can also use it to stipple and create fine details in smaller areas. Many PMU artists swear by this grouping for drawing natural-looking eyebrow hair for procedures like powder brows.
• 3RL/3: There are three needles in this 3RL cartridge needle grouping. Because of this, it can create more lines and dots and cover a greater space than the previous grouping with a single pass. This is a tattoo artist’s favorite for realistic fur and hair effects.
• 3RL/4: This grouping has four 3RL tattoo needles in the cartridge. It’s one of the best tattoo needles for lining effects if you want simultaneous lines, for example the veins on flower leaves. Because of the size of this 3RL needle cartridge, it is also a great choice for pixelating and stippling on larger patterns and areas.
